Micromorphological characteristics of human scaphoid bone based on Micro CT imaging technology

• Micro CT imaging revealed that the scaphoid waist has sparser trabecular bone and lower bone density, making it the most fracture-prone region.
• Significant regional differences in trabecular microstructure parameters were found among the tubercle, waist, and body of the scaphoid.
• Left-right differences were significant only in the tubercle, not in the waist or body.
• The findings provide a microstructural basis for understanding scaphoid fracture mechanisms and designing internal fixation devices.
